Sino-U.S. Trade Friction over Tire

In 2007, the U.S. filed anti-dumping and anti-subsidy cases over off-road tires made in China. It was the first anti-dumping and anti-subsidy probe launched by the U.S. against China’s tires.

In 2009, U.S. International Trade Commission issued an announcement to impose special protectionist tariffs on passenger car and light truck tires from China.

In 2013, the U.S. launched a sunset review over China’s off-road tires, and launched Section 337 investigations against six Chinese tire manufacturers.

In 2014, the U.S. launched anti-dumping and anti-subsidy probe into passenger car and light truck tires exported from China.

In 2016, United Steelworkers appealed to launch anti-dumping and anti-subsidy probe into off-road tires exported from China.
