Three chemical enterprises among reprimand list for unsafe production

The State Administration of Work Safety has released the second batch of units and persons to be jointly punished due to product safety issues for 2017.

A total of 28 production-operation units are involved in the list and 16 units and relevant people are on the “black list” to be jointly punished.

Three chemical enterprises are on the list.

Linyi Jinyu Petrochemical and Jiangxi Zhangjiang Chemicals severely violated the law, which led to significant production safety accident; while Cangzhou Xingjifuli Chemicals had tried to hide facts of an accident.

A liquefied gas tanker of Linyi Jinyu Petrochemical violated operation rules in the process of unloading in Jun. 2017, which led to leakage of liquefied gas, explosion and fire, causing 10 deaths and 9 injuries.

During the pilot production in Apr. 2016, workers of Jiangxi Zhangjiang Chemicals violated regulations in the process of instruction and operation, which led to explosion and fire, causing three deaths and one injury.

A dinitro chloro benzene production equipment of Cangzhou Xingjifuli Chemical had smoking incident during the process of nitrification. The enterprise tried to hide the facts of the incident, which was reported by the public and was verified to be true.

The provincial authorities have launched safe production inspection over chemical industry as requested by the State Council.

According to the notification issued by the State Council, the inspection will not only focus on enterprises that violated production regulations, but also local governments and relevant departments that haven’t enforced the rules effectively and strictly as they should.

A number of enterprises with illegal behaviors have been found out by the inspection team.
