Capacity utilization of tire producers in Shandong is low

Statistics show that in the first week of Sept., the capacity utilization of all-steel tire production in Shandong was 57.48%, down 1.91 percentage points from the previous week, or down 12.33 percentage points from the same period a year ago.

During the week, the capacity utilization of semi-steel tire production in China was 65.72%, down 0.86 percentage points week on week, or down 6.38 percentage points year on year.

Because of heavy pressure induced by environment supervision, tire producers in the proarea stopped or reduced production from time to time, and the actual output was low.

Moreover, as the supplies of rubber additives and carbon black were restrained, their prices hiked, and the capacity utilizations of some tire producers were affected.

In addition, a few producers’ capacity utilization were extremely low because of bad business operation.
