Industrial heavyweights discuss industrial development of Russian dandelion rubber

The Russian Dandelion Rubber Technical Innovation Summit 2017 was held on Dec. 19 in Beijing.

The theme of the forum is Innovation, Sharing, Development, and it aims to accelerate the industrialization progress of the technology by making use of the Russian dandelion to obtain natural rubber in China.

Linglong Tire earmarked 5 million yuan in 2015 and initiated China’s Russian dandelion rubber industrialization and development plan with Beijing University of Chemical Technology and the Rubber Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences.

China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation was approved in 2015 to establish the Technical Innovation and Strategy Alliance of Russian Dandelion Rubber Industry.

Currently, there are 20 formal members in the association with milestones and progresses in a variety of sectors of Russian dandelion utilization.

Industry experts said that commercial development of Russian dandelion will expand the supply channel of natural rubber in China, enhance the international competitiveness of rubber producers, and contribute to long-term, secure, sustainable provision of natural rubber resource.

In addition, Wang Feng, board chairman of Linglong Tire, announced on the forum that the company will earmark 30 million yuan to establish Beijing Linglong Russian Dandelion Technology Development Co., Ltd. to work on R&D of Russian dandelion rubber. The new firm aims to take the lead and work with domestic peers to break through key technologies concerning industrialization of Russian dandelion rubber within five years.
