Dongying city to launch Intellectual Property Rights Protection Center
Dongying Intellectual Property Rights Protection Center has been approved by the State Intellectual Property Office and will be launched very soon.
The Dongying Intellectual Property Rights Protection Center will carry out pre-examinations on patent applications pertaining to oil exploitation and processing as well as the rubber and tire industries in Dongying city.
After the pre-examinations, the applications will be submitted to the State Intellectual Property Office for quick examinations.
As that, the whole procedure of applying for a patent will be much shorter than before. For instance, the average period of patenting an invention will be cut to three to six months from 22 months.
And it will take about one month to patent a utility model, while it now takes seven or eight months. And patenting a design will only take five to seven working days.
The Dongying Intellectual Property Rights Protection Center will share a patent database with the State Intellectual Property Office.
