Results of Sample Check over Natural Rubber in Yunnan Announced

Commissioned by Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision, National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of Rubber and Latex Products conducted sample checks over natural rubber products in Yunnan.

The institution checked products produced within 12 months randomly. All these products have passed the producers’ inspection for quality and safety.

A total of 92 batches of products from 88 producers were inspected.

Eighty-seven batches of products from 83 producers were qualified, while five batches from five producers failed, with an acceptability of 94.6%.

Among the five batches failed, three of them failed to meet the standard for plasticity retention index.

An industrial expert said PRI refers to the aging resistance of rubber, high PRI means better aging resistance performance.

An official with Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision said the hardware and software of natural rubber producers in Yunnan are different.

Large producers have their own inspection rooms and strict management on entry of raw materials as well as exit of products; their managements are effective and possess well awareness on quality.

Small- and medium-sized producers have better awareness on quality but the quality of their products is instable.

Yunnan is an important rubber producer in China, with the category ranging from natural rubber, bacon rubber to special rubber for tires, and the producing and processing companies are from Xishuangbanna, Lincang, Puer, Dehong, Wenshan, and Dehong cities.
