Standard for Tire Rating to be Implemented on Sep. 15

The Standard for Grading of Tire Products and the Management Rules for the Labeling of Tires published by China Rubber Industry Association are scheduled to take effect on Sep. 15.

Zhu Hong, head of the technical and economic commission of CRIA, said online application and management data platform have been opened to companies. Tire joint-ventures and large domestic tire producers applied for rating eagerly.

The standards include indices concerning rolling friction, wetland traction and noises.

Some applicants have been preparing for relevant documents and testing the performance of their tire products with regard to those items.

Zhu said they will review the documents and issue the labels of grading to the tire products.

By then, those tire products will be labeled when they are put into the market for customers to choose.

The standard of grading was drafted by 14 units.

They are Double Coin Group, Doublestar Group, Zhongce Rubber, Linglong Tire, Triangle Tire, Aeolus Tire, Prinx Chengshan, Xingyuan Tire, China National Tyre Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, China Quality Certification Center, Sentury Tire, Jiangsu General Science Technology, and Quecheng Silicon Chemical.

The main drafters are Qian Ruijin, Jiang Qi, Huang Yigang, Nie Qiuhai, Li Daiqiang, Feng Yaoling, Deng Shitao, Ren Fujun, Xu Guangcheng, Zhang Peng, Li Hongwei, Zhao Xiang, Xu Shuliang, Ma Zhong, Fu Guangping, Xu Lianyu, Su Bo, Li Zhongdong, Que Weidong, Zhu Hong, Shi Yifeng, and Lei Changchun.
