China to Integrate Standards of Rubber Chemicals

The national rubber chemicals standard conference was held in Hebi, Henan province.

Organized by China Rubber Chemicals Industry Association, it was a high-profile conference of the industry.

Liu Zhao, general manager with Hengli Rubber and Plastics Co., Ltd., said nearly 90% rubber chemicals are used by the automotive industry and 70% are for production and upgrade of rubber tires.

Over the past few years, development of China’s automotive industry and tire industry, in particular the large-scale production or radial tires, the development of rubber chemicals also made great progress.

Ma Weibin, an engineer with Hengli Rubber and Plastics, said China’s rubber chemicals used to depend on imports. Chinese tire companies have to control the core technology to build their own brands and brand visibility.

One of the targets of the conference was discussing the industry standards for China’s rubber chemical industry, in a bid to make rubber chemicals cleaner, safer and more environmentally friendly.

Hengli Rubber and Plastics entered the Jijiashan Industry Park, Heshan District, Hebi, last March with a plant area of more than 300 mu.

With an overall investment of one billion yuan, Hengli Rubber and Plastics produces rubber accelerators. Currently, the company’s first-phase CBS rubber chemical program, with a capacity of 30,000 tons, has entered into the testing stage.
