Advanced Intelligent Tire Production Base Comes on Stream in Shandong

Triangle Tyre’s intelligent tire production base for advanced passenger cars officially came on stream in the Nanhai New Area of Weihai, Shandong province.

It is a “smart factory” in accordance with criteria of Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025. Comparing to traditional manufacturing model, productivity of the production base is 40% higher with an annual capacity of 4 million smart high-performance tires for passenger car.

The entire production process - from raw material warehousing, storage and transition of semi-products, to tire products testing, warehousing and loading – is automatic and the positioning accuracy has been down to millimeter.

In the process of operation, the production base monitors the entire production procedure through chip embedment and barcode recognition equipment. Such procedure gives every tire a unique ‘identity’ and makes the production base an Internet of Things.

Data collection and analysis are most crucial for smart operation of the internet of Things.

With an overall investment of 6.7 billion yuan, performance of tires manufactured by the production base meets the Phase 2 criteria of EU’s labeling law and satisfies characteristic demands from Russia, North European and North American countries.
