Self-discipline Regulations on Environmentally Friendly Reclaimed Rubber to be Released Soon
China is to release the Self-discipline Regulations on Environmentally Friendly Reclaimed Rubber soon, according to Cao Qingxin, secretary general of the Scrap Rubber Comprehensive Utilization Division of China Rubber Industry Association.
Over the past years, as reclaimed rubber products wrongly emphasized physical indices, misguided by the concepts of high tenacity and recuperated rubber, more than 70% of such products adopted pollutant raw materials, making the PAH index of reclaimed rubber surpassing given environmental standard.
To make reclaimed rubber product meet the safety and security requests and be in accordance with the limitations of the EU’s REACH on heavy matel and PAH, and satisfy the demands of domestic and overseas rubber companies, the reclaimed rubber industry worked on drafting the self-discipline regulations to eliminate toxic noxious softener made from coal tar.
The Self-discipline Regulations on Environmentally Friendly Reclaimed Rubber has been drafted since June and is expected to be finished by Dec.
