Snow Tire Prices in Urumchi Drop across the Board

Temperature in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region dropped abruptly and some local car owners started to use snow tires in advance.

A number of tire distributors and car shopowners disclosed on Oct. 16 that more carowners have changed to snow tires, but the over prices of snow tires dropped about 10% year on year.

Tire shopowners said an increasing number of customers have called to change tires, when the autumn’s first snow comes, tire change will come to its peak.

Tire prices in Urumchi dropped about 10% over the same period of last year, the unit price of some specific size and brand could decrease more than 100 yuan.

A market insider attributed the reasons for the price drop to rubber price drop and fiercer market competition.

In addition, some tire exporters turned to sell their products in domestic market and boosted market supply; hot online sales also affected those in stores.

The market insider suggests car owners to choose legitimate car stores and check the brand, tread, date of manufacturing and marks of the tires.
