Tirecon Asia 2013 opens in Shanghai
Tirecon Asia 2013, a major event in the tire industry in Asia, opened in Shanghai on June 6.
The two-day event gathered more than 170 business executives from leading automakers, tire manufacturers, chemical & materials providers, and technology providers around the world.
“Green Tire” is one of the hot topics at the conference. According to a briefing handed to media in advance, the growth of global green tire market is expected to reach 70.6 billion US dollars (35% of the total) by 2017, in the wake of the implementation of tire labeling regulation in the EU and other countries.
Meanwhile, due to strong demand of automobiles and replacement tires, the global tire market still enjoys significant opportunities for industry players, according to industry insiders at the conference.
