Tianjin Government may Limit the increment of Minibus and Use Auction for License Plate

In the press conference in 15th December, Tianjin government announced the management of minibus increment was going to be implemented from zero hour of 16th December 2013 and the management of traffic controls in accordance with tail number from 1st March 2014.

It is known by report, the management methods are hopeful to be released before the end of this year and put into effort from the beginning of the year. It is said the increment of minibus of Tianjin will be limited to 110,000 and 40% of license plates will be auctioned, the other 60% will be given out in the method of lottery. New energy vehicle has its own increment of 10,000.

Familiar with Beijing in 23th December 2010, the crazy night performed again in 15th December of Tianjin. It is reported customers began to purchase after 19:00 pm in 4S shop. The peak of customers happened after 21:00 and last for about 1 hour. According to incomplete statistics, the sales of FAW-Volkswagen and Shanghai Volkswagen had reached 700 to 800 in one night. The sales of FAW Toyota in the night of 15th December had reached 2000, occupying 20% of the sales of whole year.

It is reported that the rate of auction may be higher than the rate of lottery in new management policy of Tianjin. Analyst said the rate of auction shouldn't be too high based on Tianjin automobile market. After the restriction, the market structure of Tianjin market would change significantly. A related principle of FAW-Toyota said to report, " The restriction policy has put forward a examination question for enterprises. FAW-Toyota will adjust the sales strategy in accordance with the good resource of local distributors."
