Construction completes on China's first energy-saving tire production project
China’s first energy-saving tire production project has completed construction in the economic development zone inRugao,Jiangsuprovince.
The project, undertaken by Double Coin, was approved byChina’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) last April.
The state-of-the-art technologies enabled the project to realize recycling of 95% effluents and 100% steam produced during tire production process.
Upon completion of the project, Double Coin’s Rugao production base will be able to save 540,000 metric tons of water and 7,000 metric tons of standard coal annually, and reduce emissions of sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide by 13 metric tons and 14,600 metric tons respectively per year, with comprehensive energy efficiency topping 37%.
