Nano tires may mass produce in China

China is mulling over a new type of nano tires to be mass produced in some tire companies, like Linglong Tyre, in the near future.
According to tests on sports car field, fuel consumption of sedan equipped with the new nano tire can be reduced by 5%, compared to the present extensively used radial tires. University of Chemical Technology.
“We changed rubber’s internal structure of tire tread, so the slipping force between molecules would become large while breaking, but turn back to small while driving, which could effectivley save fuel.” said Wang Yiqing, associate researcher in Beijing.
China is planning to build up at least 1 million ton/year of production in the first stage, Wang said.
