When will Chinese Tire industry restart production?

Recently, China Rubber Industry Association made a surveyof coronavirus affection on its member companies.

Until now, the association has recieved about 250 answers. There were 59 companies keeping production even in Spring Festival Vacation, which accounted for 23.6% of interviewed companies; about 90 companies planed to reopen from Feb.15, taking 36% and about 65 companies won't restart opertation by the end of February, taking 26%; about 36 companies couldn't confirm its reopen date due to local policies, which takes 14.4% of interviewees.

Tyre Industry

The association interviewed 93 tire companies (Hu Bei Province not included).

There were 34 companies restarting operation, and after Feb.20, all the interviewees would start production.

However, operation ratio was very low, only 10%-30% of normal level.

Cycle Tyre Industry

Among 34 interviewed cycle tyre producers, there were only 9 companies reopened, 10 companies planning reopen before Feb.18, and 15 companies were still waiting for local governments' notice.

Five Shandong companies have been starting operation, two Fujian Companies starting, and one company respectively in Zhejiang Province and Guangdong Province .

Rubber Hose & Tape

There have been 45 companies restarting operation during 120 interviewees.

And there were 13 companies planning to start operation by the end of February, and 3 companies planning to start production from March.

The left 59 companies were waiting for local government's notice.

To be noticed that, most of companies' operation ratio was lower than 80%.

Rubber Production Industry

About 54 rubber production companies have been allowed to start operation, taking 62.79% of total interviewees. And most of middle/small-size companies were not allowed to reopen, due to lacking of coronavirus preventing capacity.

Besides, operation ratio of reopened companies was most at 50%-70% of normal level.

Latex production Industry

During 124 interviewed companies, there were 69 latex production companies starting operation and 29 related companies reopening, which means about 53.22% of industrial companies reopening.

Rubber Chemical Industry

Most od interviewed rubber chemical companies have started operation from Feb.10.

Companies in Henan Province、Jiangsu Province and Tianjin Arean were still waiting for local governments' notice.

Carbon Black Industry

About 70.3% of interviewed carbon black companies ( 26 companies) have confirmed to start operation.

Three companies plans to reopen by the end of February and left 8 companies has no clear reopen plan.

Framework Material Industry

According to the survy, there were 31 framework material companie already starting operation. Except in Hubei Province, most companies' operation ratio has surpassed 50%.

Rubber Machinery Industry

Among 42 interviewees, there were 28 rubber machinery companies starting operation, and the left 14 companies would reopen by the end of February.

Waste Rubber Recycle Industry

Only 5 waste rubber recycle companies has start operation during 75 interviewees. By the end of February, another 21 companies would start operation.

Meanwhile, according to the survy, most of tire agencies were still closed, and planning to reopen at the end of February, while most of rubber test companies has started operation since February 10.
