China’s rubber industry advanced steadily in 2017.

Tire producers launched in-depth technological reform, rolled out new products, and improved technologies. Rubber producers had also strengthened their technological ability.

Accordingly, China’s rubber machinery sector continued to progress with fresh technologies and products.

Release of PS2A uni-stage tire building machine

MESNAC Co., Ltd. released on Sep. 21, 2017 the fourth-generation uni-stage passenger car radial tire building machine – PS2A – was released in Shanghai.

The machine filled domestic blank of six technologies and is advanced in the international market.

Verification of “five-compound-rubber extrusion unit” and “3200-mm wide film extrusion rolling production line”

The “five-compound-rubber extrusion unit” and “3200-mm wide film extrusion rolling production line” projects of China Chemical Guilin Engineering Co., Ltd. was verified by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation as technological achievements.

The “five-compound-rubber extrusion unit” is the first brand new rubber extrusion product in China.

By applying the equipment in the process of high-end radial tire production, the quality and stability of tires will be improved.

The “3200-mm wide film extrusion rolling production line” is also a new rubber film extrusion machine in China with historical breakthrough in terms of the width of extrusion.

High-performance tire direct pressure vulcanizing manufacturing technology and equipment filled the blank of the world

Triangle Tire’s “High-performance tire direct pressure vulcanizing manufacturing technology and equipment” was verified by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation on Jul. 6, 2017.

Experts agreed that the technological achievement filled domestic and international blank and is internationally advanced.

The new technology and equipment will largely improve tire’s dynamic balance and equilibrium, and are more energy conservation during the process of vulcanization.

Currently, the achievement has acquired 11 patents of invention.

Tianhua Institute of Chemical Machinery & Automation integrates rubber machinery assets of ChemChina

Tianhua Institute of Chemical Machinery & Automation Co., Ltd. announced Dec. 7, 2017 to purchase the assets of its controller, China National Chemical Corp., for 6.64 billion yuan.

The most important asset is China National Chemical Equipment Holdings (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., the controlling shareholder of German enterprise KraussMaffei. The transaction valued 5.97 billion yuan, accounting for 89.85% of the total transaction.

At the same time, Tianhua Institute plans to raise no more than 1.23 billion yuan as supporting funds.

Tianhua Institute’s integration of rubber machinery assets of ChemChina shows the restructure and reform of ChemChina is accelerating.

New tandem mixer leads reform of rubber mixing

China’s first new tandem mixer developed specially for non-tire sector was produced on Mar. 20, 2017 in the assembly factory of Yihang Rubber and Plastic Machinery Group Co., Ltd.

It marks a crucial step made by the company’s smart rubber mixing technological plan toward the rubber product sector.

The company applied the low-temperature rubber mixing technology of tandem mixer in rubber product sector for the first time.

Successful operation of China’s first steel/fiber cord dual-purpose calender

China’s first “Φ700×1800 steel/fiber cord dual-purpose calender” developed by Dalian Rubber and Plastic Mechinery Co., Ltd. was successfully produced in Nov. 2017.

The equipment satisfies the technical requirements for steel and fiber cord calender, and is efficient and cost effective as a substitute of its foreign counterparts.

Construction of intelligent rubber machinery digital manufacturing base launched in Yiyang

Yihang Rubber and Plastic Machinery Group Co., Ltd. and Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute of Manufacturing and Automation launched on Aug. 15, 2017 the construction project of intelligent rubber machinery digital manufacturing base and a signing ceremony for strategic cooperation.

The Chinese company will further integrate with Fraunhofer, accelerate the construction of the base, and develop further.

Verification of anti-adhesive rubber conveyor belt preparation technology and application project

The “anti-adhesive rubber conveyor belt preparation technology and application” project of Wuxi Boton Technology Co., Ltd. was verified on Nov. 8, 2017 in Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

The project has been applied in relevant sectors and is cost effective.

Portable electric tapping knife ends manual tapping situation

The Rubber Institute of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences rolled out on Apr. 25, 2017 the first-generational portable electric tapping knifes.

It marks the possibility for China’s rubber industry to end the history of manual tapping that has lasted for dozens of years and the come of a new era of electric tapping.

Born of 3D printing polyurethane tire

The 3D printing polyurethane tire was successfully rolled out and tested by Shangdong Linglong Tire Co., Ltd. and Beijing University of Chemical Technology in Jul. 2017.

It was the first standardized polyurethane tire produced through 3D printing in China.
