Shandong manufacturing industrial development plan talks of tires

The Manufacturing Industrial Development Plan of Shandong Province 2016-2020 issued by Shandong Economy and Information Commission on Jun. 15 talked of tire industry between the lines.

During the period, Shandong government will resolve the excess capacity of the tire industry.

According to the plan, the locality will increase the proportion of radial tires used by a variety of high-performance cars.

More models of lightweight radial tires will be developed with complete production technology system to increase their oil-saving capacity, quality, and lifecycle.

For heavy-duty radial tires, the government will give guidance to increase the production of radial tires and tubeless tires, and to develop all-series products and necessary technology.

Development and production of giant engineering radial tire and wide, tubeless engineering radial tires are also encouraged.

By 2020, about 50% tires will be green tires in Shandong.

In addition, according to the plan, the province aims to boost all-steel tubeless radial tires to 60% of its total tire output; mid- and high-end semi-steel radial tires with mid- and low tire section to 55%, and mid- and high-end semi-steel radial tires of key producers to over 70% by 2020.

The average comprehensive standard coal consumption in producing 1 ton all-steel radial tires, semi-steel radial tires and engineering radial tires are expected to be cut down to 432,000 kg., 463 kg. and 786 kg., respectively.
