Sets up green-tech firm in New York

Yu went to Yale in 1998 for a Master’s degree in environmental management.

After that, he stayed in the U.S. for work and learnt about the world’s most advanced low temperature thermal cracking technology, and realized the value of the technology in the environmental protection market.

Then he founded a green-tech company in New York, dedicating in renewable resources such as scrap tire, medical waste, and plastic waste, and started trading environmental equipment internationally.

Last year, Yu decided to came back home and start a business with three patents.

Develops “renewable oil” industry in Zhuhai

After investigating a dozen of cities nationwide, Yu decided to settle in Zhuhai, Guangdong province.

The entrepreneurial team leading by Yu was among the first enterprises settled in Guangdong Zhuhai Public Entrepreneurship Incubation (Practice) Base.

The technology and equipment package developed by the entrepreneurial team is with low energy consumption, no pollution and high safety. By cracking scrap tires and plastic waste, considerable amount of fuel oil is produced.

Yu expects to create a “renewable oil” industry in China through the technology.

He predicts that the emerging industry will be scaled up in four to five years.

The company is building production lines in Luoyang, Henan province, and Gaomi, Shandong province, with the oil output of each production line at 10,000 tons. The output in 2017 is expected to be 110,000 tons at least.
