China analysts look downwards on heavy truck industry in 2015

With China’s economy growth downturn and State IV emissions standards put into implement in 2015, China’s heavy truck industry will face big challenge this year, said Gong Yunan, senior expert in Shaanxi Automobile Group,on“2015 Auto-Tire Cross-Sectoral Development Summit Forum”held by Tireworld.com.cn on Jan.23 2015.

Analysts predict pessimistic in 2015

It is predicted that China’s heavy truck demand will be 620,000 units to 730,000 units, lower than sales of 744,000 units in 2014, according to opinions fromChina’s analysts and heavy truck salemen.

Cai Dong, general manager in ChinaNational Heavy Duty Truck Group, predicted that heavy truck sales in 2015 will reach the same level or less compared to 2014. Zhou Chaoyin, general manager in Shaanxi Heavy Duty Truck Sale Group, said it would be 730,000 units in 2014.JAC said it would be 620,000units to 680,000 units.

Overseas economy is still uncertain, adding to slowing down economy growth inChina, it is understandable to turn down the sales expectation. “We could add 10% more on salesmen’s prediction,” said Gong.

State IV kills sales more

In the fourth quarter of 2014, China’s heavy truck sales dropped 30% compared to the same period in 2013, Gong said, because State IV emission standards put into operation since Jan.1 2015.

It is predicted that qualified heavy truck could not reach speed of new policy, which would result in sales decrease of heavy truck, Gong said.
