Tireworld Insight: China Guangrao Tire Show well received

The recent three-day international tire exhibition held in Guangrao County in east China’s Shandong province has rounded off.

FRUITFUL SHOW

This year’s Guangrao tire show attracted the participation of more than 600 enterprises, including a large proportion of well-known enterprises both home and abroad, engaged in rubber machinery, tire modules, chemical additives, steel wires, and polyester tire fabrics.

Orders worth 15.2 billion yuan have been made at the show, according to an official release.

EXCHANGE PLATFORM

“More importantly, the show has provided a platform for tire market players to learn from and share resources with each other”, said Xiang Jian, director of the exhibition office of Guangrao.

During the event, three themed exhibitions, four industry conferences, and nine technology forums were convened, all warmly received by the participants.

CLOSER TO MARKET

At present there are four major tire shows in China, respectively held in April, May, September, and November inQingdao, Guangrao, and Shanghai.

According to an industry insider, the China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA) is also preparing for launching a new rubber tire show.

For locations like Guangrao, where traffic is not that convenient, it’s never easy for it to stand out and enjoy such great popularity, observers say.

The key factor behind the popular Guangrao show lies in its closeness to the market, they added.

“Most of my clients are medium and small tire makers, and many of them are based in the Dawang town of Guangrao, that’s why we come to the Guangrao tire show every year,” a Dalian-based tire exhibitor told Tireworld.

GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

Among the four major tire shows in China, the Guangrao event is the only one that is government-backed.

The local government of Guangrao has lent great support to every editions of the Guangrao show over the past years, taking care of almost every aspect from exclusive organization offices, security forces, volunteer arrangement, to the coordination with electricity, fire control organs.

Market observers note that the role that government plays in promoting the development of the tire industry has grown increasingly prominent especially when facing down challenges coming from both the domestic market and international arena.
