Tokyo rubber falls on April 22

Tokyo Commodity Exchange's (TOCOM) futures rubber contract fell for a second day, ending the day 2.9 yen lower at 147.7 yen per kg on April 22, tracking Shanghai prices as the coronavirus outbreak saps demand.

The most-active rubber contract on the Shanghai futures fell 190 yuan to finish at 9,715 yuan per tonne.

The US dollar was quoted around 107.60, compared with 107.76 yen in late Asia trade the previous day. Oil prices plunged, with Brent falling 10% and US crude down more than 1%. Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock average ended the day nearly 1% lower.
