TOCOM futures extend gains into fourth session on May 29

TOKYO:* Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) futures rose for a fourth straight session on Wednesday, with the benchmark contract for November delivery  finishing 0.4 yen, or 0.2%, higher at 193 yen per kg.

* The most-active rubber contract on the Shanghai futures exchange for September delivery rose 300 yuan, or 2.5%, to 12,200 yuan per tonne by around 0652 GMT.

* The U.S. dollar was quoted around 109.18 yen, compared with around 109.36 yen on Tuesday afternoon.

* Oil prices were lower with Brent dropping 0.8% and U.S. crude down by 1.2%.

* Japan’s benchmark Nikkei stock average ended the day 1.2 percent lower.

* TOCOM’s technically specified rubber (TSR) 20 futures contract for November delivery fell 0.3% to close at 161.6 yen per kg.

* The front-month rubber contract on Singapore’s SICOM exchange for June delivery traded at 155 U.S. cents per kg, down 0.1%.
