Rubber futures traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) ended more than 1 percent higher on Thursday (June 26, 2014).
The most actively traded contract for September 2014 delivery ended at 15,360 yuan/metric ton, up 160 yuan or 1.05% from the previous settlement.
The monthly output of rubber tire showed growth of 4.8 percent on a year on year basis in May, according to a release by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the country’s top economic planner, on Wednesday.
