SHFE rubber ends higher on Mon. tracking equities

Shanghai Futures Exchange

Rubber futures traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) ended higher on Monday (May 20, 2013) amid thin trading, tracking gains in the local equity market.

The most actively traded contract for September delivery ended at 20,510 yuan/metric ton, up 245 yuan or 1.21%.

Traders in Thailand say raw material supply is scarce due to rain, so their offer prices are also often far too high for successful trades.
