TOCOM Sept. rubber contract expires at JPY240.5/kg

The RSS3 rubber futures contract for September delivery traded on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) expired on Monday at JPY240.5/kg, with 277 lots delivered.
The expiry price was down JPY2.5 from the settlement of the previous trading day but up JPY24.5 from the expiry price of the August contract.
Rubber futures on the TOCOM have basically recovered from a 34-month low in mid-August after major producing countries including Thailand, Indonesia andMalaysia announced a plan to cut exports in the fourth quarter.
