Vietnam Equity Movers: Licogi 16, Vietcombank, Hoa Binh Rubber

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11:30 a.m. break in Ho Chi Minh City. The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell 0.4 percent to 485.87.

Licogi 16 Joint-Stock Co. (LCG) , a builder of roads and ports, rose 2.2 percent to 13,800 dong. The company will pay its shareholders a dividend of 500 dong a share on July 6, it said in a statement filed on the bourse’s website.

Joint-Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (VCB VN), the country’s biggest listed lender by market value, increased 2.9 percent to 35,200 dong, heading for the highest close since Nov. 6, 2009.

Liquidity at banks has “clearly improved” in the period since October, central bank Governor Nguyen Van Binh said, according to a transcript of an interview posted on the State Bank of Vietnam’s website yesterday after the market closed.

Hoa Binh Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (HRC) , which produces and processes latex rubber, dropped 4.6 percent to 41,500 dong.

September-delivery rubber in Shanghai slid as much as 0.8 percent to 25,965 yuan ($4,113) a ton.
