Rubber futures traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) ended slightly higher on Tuesday (December 25, 2012), tracking gains on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) and the local equity market.
The most actively traded contract for May 2013 delivery ended at 25,250 yuan/metric ton, up 210 yuan or 0.84 percent.
Sentiment remained prudent during the Christmas holiday when major futures exchanges in Europe and theUSwere closed.
Recent rally in the equity market may give a boost to the futures prices, traders noted.
