Rubber futures traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) retreated after making a higher opening on Friday (October 12, 2012) as concern about the global economy weighed heavily on sentiment.
The most actively traded contract for January 2013 delivery ended at 25,380 yuan/metric ton, down 245 yuan or 0.96%.
Investors will eye a raft of Chinese economic data due Saturday for further cues.
