Investment in China’s Tire Industry Touches New Low

In the 12th Five-year Plan period (2011-2015), investment in Chinas tire industry dropped 9.14% from the 2006-2010 period, touching a record low.

Statistics show that the sales revenue of Chinas rubber and tire industry decreased 11.3% year on year, in which the sales revenue of tire sector dropped 14.36%.

Deng Yali, chairman of China Rubber Industry Association, said at the 2016 China Rubber Conference & China Rubber Expo that Chinas tire output in 2015 inched up 0.53% on a yearly basis to 565 million, but the tire export plunged 16% from 2014.

The output of radial tires climbed 0.78% to 515 million, in which all-steel radial tires went down 1.78% to 110 million and semi-steel radial tires went down 1.5% to 405 million.

In addition, the monthly capacity utilization of all-steel radial tire companies last year was 65%, down 6% year on year; and that of semi-steel radial tire companies was 70%, down 10%.
