China 2015 Rubber Machinery Imports Slump
Germany’s exports of plastics and rubber machinery to China fell 19 percent year on year to 713.4 USD in 2015, according to VDMA, Germany’s machinery association.
The decline rate in 2015 was the same as that in 2012. The exports showed large increase in 2013, followed by a drop of 5.5 percent in 2014.
That said, China remains a large market for Germany. In 2014, Germany was China’s largest source of rubber equipment imports, accounting for 32.9 percent of China’s total equipment imports. Japan ranked the second. In 2014, China imported 540.8 USD of equipment from Japan.
Taiwan and the Republic of Korea took the third and fourth places respectively as the sources of China’s rubber machinery imports.
The VDMA has not yet disclosed detailed figures for 2015. Nor has it commented on the reasons for the decline.
