There were over 10 million tons per year of waste tires produced in China in 2013, which was only 7.4 million tons/year in 2008, statistics from Tireworld showed. It was estimated to grow to 20 million tons/year by 2020, analysts said.
Passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles contribute most in Chinese waste tires. Amongst, heavy truck takes high ratio in commercial vehicles. With logistics business expanding fast in China, tires of heavy truck replace over 200 million units every year in recent years, and are expected to meet sustained surge in the near future. Relatively, tire replacement of passenger vehicle won’t change much, due for slow growth of passenger vehicles’ ownership in China.
