China's self-owned brands faces new crisis

China’s auto production and sales volume outnumbered last year with 18.4189 million units and 18.5051 million units in 2011, up 0.84 percent and 2.45 percent.£?13-year lowest growth, according to statistics from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

 
China's own-brand autos, developed rapidly years ago, declined this year. In 2011, China's own-brand passenger cars were sold 6.1122 million units and declined by 2.56 percent year-on-year, occupying 42.23 percent of passenger cars’ market share£?3.37 percentage lower compared to the same time last year.
 
Some auto analysts said, Chinas self-owned brands may face a new crisis since 2011. Zhu yiping, Assistant Secretary-General for China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), said that increasing rate of auto production and sales in 2011 sharply declined mainly influenced by the following factors: retreating of the government’s macro-control policy to inactivate consumption£?high-base number of the first half year and auto-purchasing restrictions in cities as Beijing.
