Data Talk: Japanese PV sales grow in China against overall downturn
Gasgoo's Data Talk is to end with the chapter of Japanese PV brands.
To simplify the expression, we use terms like "JP brands" or "JP PVs" to refer to those brands and PVs jointly built with or solely created by Japanese automakers.
Since 2017, Japanese PV brands have been outpacing the entire PV market in terms of the sales volume in China. For the first half of 2019, JP PVs still gained a year-on-year sales growth of 4%, despite the 13.8% drop for the whole domestic PV domain.
Market shares of JP PVs have been climbing in recent years. In the near term, its percentage in China's PV market will remain at over 21%.
The top 3 JP brands by H1 2019 sales volume in China was Honda, Toyota and Nissan. Both Honda and Toyota boasted evident year-over-year growth, while Nissan saw a slight drop from the prior-year.
