In October, the wholesales of passenger vehicles in domestic market were 2,316,035 units, up 0.2 percent year on year and 0.6 percent month on month, according to data released by China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
The following are the lists on the overall wholesale performance of the passenger vehicle automakers in October. We use passenger vehicle wholesale performance to refer to the total wholesales of locally-produced sedans, SUVs and MPVs.
Compared with September, the October saw a big change in the Top 3 automakers. With 201,258 vehicles sold, SAIC-GM exceeded FAW-VW and SAIC-VW and claimed the crown of October passenger vehicle wholesale list. SAIC-VW fell to the third place with a wholesale performance of 193,782 vehicles.
As to the self-owned passenger vehicle automakers, the Top 6 remained the same as those of September. Geely secured its champion again with 125,201 units, 25,000 more than that of Changan, the second in the list. By the end of October, Geely has achieved 86 percent of its annual target.
There were five joint venture PV automakers which showed sales decline, one more than September. The decrease rates of Changan Ford and Beijing Hyundai narrowed to 11.1 percent and 5.8 percent respectively from 13.2 percent and 18.4 percent.
