CPCA: Sales of Green vehicles Remain Stable in China in September

Sales of alternative energy vehicles have been 29,699 units in September, indicating that the its market demands have remain stable in China, according to data from China Passenger Car Associate (short for CPCA).

And sales of electric vehicles have been 22,236 units, with a yearly rise of 100%, while that of plug-in hybrid vehicle have been 7,643 units, with a yearly rise of 8%.

Sales of green vehicles have showed an upward trend from January to September this year, though with a slight decrease in February and July. Moreover, there has been a great rise in sales from March to June due to encouraging policy and soaring market demands. The average sales have been about 30 thousand units in July, August and September. Sales of green vehicles have been about 210 thousand units, with yearly rise of 122%, in 2016. And growth in sales of electric vehicles has been larger than that of plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Sales of the former have taken up 75%, which include 96% of cars, while that of the latter have only accounted for 25%, which include 28% of SUV, in September. To be noticed, sales of Tan of BYD, which have been 2,120 units, may have great impact on sales of green vehicles.

Sales of SAAB D50 of BAIC, one of leading automakers in China, have been 3,800 units in September, making it the best seller. And increasing demands in Beijing market has led to rise in sales of electric vehicles of brands including BAIC E50, BYD e5, BYD Qin EV, and others. Encouraging policy by the municipal government in Shanghai has also resulted in considerable increase in sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles which include 1,205 units of SAIC Roewe.

With sales of 7,062 unit, electric vehicles of BAIC has made the best performance in September. And plug-in hybrid vehicles of BYD have taken up the largest market shares with sales of 5,245 units.
