China produced 1.928 million units of motor vehicles in May, up 15.7% year on year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Sunday.
In the first five months, China made 9.727 million vehicles, up 15.4% from the corresponding period of 2012, flat with the growth rate in the January-April period.
In a breakdown, China’s sedan output in the January-May period reached 5.359 million units, a jump of 16.8% from a year earlier, while the monthly sedan output in May increased 12.2% year on year to 1.05 million units, according to the NBS.
