Profile of China's auto sales & production in November 2012

China’s auto sales amounted to 1,791,000 units in November 2012, year-on-year up 8.16 percent compared to the same period of 2011, and jumped 11.52 percent compared to last month, according to statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

China’s auto sales and output steadily climbed up in the first eleven months, compared to the same period of 2011, and predicted to surpass 19,000,000 units of annual production in 2012, according to CAAM.

-- Passenger vehicles

A total of 1.46 million sedans, multi-purpose vehicles (MPV), sports-utility vehicles (SUV) and crossovers were sold inChinain November, growing 8.75 percent from a year earlier and raising 12.50 percent from the preceding month.

Output in the same month also increased 11.86 percent month on month and gained 4.21 percent year on year to 1.43 million units.

-- Commercial vehicles

China’s sales of semi-trailer still showed the downward trend in November, but others showed different trend in November.

The monthly commercial vehicle produced in November reached 329,400 units, up 7.36 percent month on month, and yearly up 2.66 percent. The sales in the month grew 7.39 percent month on month, and yearly up 5.59 percent to 329,700 units.
