China truck sales tumble in July, association

China ’s truck sales continued to fall in July, with the monthly sales figure down as much as 10 percent from the preceding month, according to the latest statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Thursday.

There are totally 175,400 trucks sold in Chinese market in July, a slump of 10.12 percent month on month and 0.90 percent year on year.

During the first seven months of this year, truck sales inChina summed to 1.56 million units, a decline of 6.26 percent over the corresponding period of last year.

The truck segment has been underperformingChina’s overall auto industry in the past two years, along with the slowdown of the country’s infrastructure construction and manufacturing activities, said the CAAM.
