Bus sales in China grow in June

Chinese bus sales have grown noticeably from May to June, an Autoweekly report appearing today reveals. According to the report, which cites statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, bus sales over the first half of the year have also demonstrated overall positive growth.

42,500 buses were sold in China last month, 14.29 percent and 2.03 percent higher than respective monthly sales figures for May and last June. Slightly more buses were sold than the total amount manufactured. Sales of light buses grew the most from the previous month, increasing 17.01 percent. Large and medium bus sales respectively increased 14.42 percent and 5.38 percent from month to month. Brilliance Jinbei was the most successful bus manufacturer, with its June sales totaling 10,353 units. It was followed by Yutong, Jiangling, Naveco, King Long and Beiqi Foton.

A total of 220,300 buses were sold in the first six months of the year, 2.58 percent more than the amount sold in the first half of 2011. Looking at individual regions, bus sales in East and South Central China decreased over the first half of the year, while those in other regions grew at different rates.
