Automobile sales inChinafell 1.75% from a year earlier in September as sales of Japanese-brand cars plunged amid strained ties between the two countries.
The country's auto production gained 3.7 percent year on year to 1.66 million units last month, while sales declined to 1.62 million vehicles, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said on Wednesday.
Auto sales in the first nine months of 2012 reached 14.09 million units, up 3.4% from the corresponding period of last year, according to the CAAM.
